Terms of Service

Last updated August 2026

Plain-language terms for using CAD Studio. They cover what is expected of you, and what you can reasonably expect back.

Who “we” means

CAD Studio is self-hostable, so the service you are using is run by whoever deployed it. “We” below means the operator of that deployment.

Your account

Accounts are created by signing in through a third-party identity provider — Google, or an OpenID Connect provider on deployments configured for one. That provider's own terms govern the underlying account; these terms cover what happens inside CAD Studio.

Keep your provider credentials and your session to yourself. Activity performed through your account is treated as yours. If you think your account or a session has been used by someone else, sign out — sessions are held server-side, so signing out ends them — and revoke this application's access from your provider.

Your files stay yours

Project files are stored in your own Google Drive, not on our servers. We keep the references needed to find them, plus your project's name and settings.

Deleting a project here removes our record of it. It does not delete anything from your Drive — those files remain yours to keep or remove yourself. The reverse is also true: removing this application's Drive access, or deleting the files from Drive, leaves the project unusable here even though its record still exists.

Acceptable use

Do not use CAD Studioto break the law, to store or distribute content you have no right to, to attack or overload the service, or to interfere with other people's use of it. Do not attempt to reach data belonging to accounts or organizations you are not a member of.

Organization API tokens act with the authority of the organization that issued them. Treat them as credentials: share them only with systems you control, and revoke any token you no longer need or no longer trust.

Availability and warranty

CAD Studio is under active development and is provided as is. There is no uptime commitment and no warranty of any kind. Features may change or be withdrawn, and data held in this service — project records, organization settings, history — can be lost.

Because your model files live in your Drive rather than here, the practical protection is already in place: keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose, and do not treat this service as the only home for your work.

Suspension and removal

The operator may suspend or remove an account, an organization, or a shared link that breaks these terms or puts the service or its other users at risk.

Changes to these terms

These terms change when the software does. The date at the top says when this text was last revised; continuing to use the service after a revision means the revised terms apply.

These terms were written to describe how CAD Studio actually behaves rather than to reproduce standard contract language. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer, and they are not legal advice.
